  23. You jest. Every time I go to Germany I am embarrased that my German is
  24. virtually non existant. Every 3rd German speaks English.

  26. How do you think it is for Germans going to the UK or the USA? Yes of
  27. course, we just assume they speak English. Just as well they usually do
  28. since they wont find anyone who can speak German.

  30. Respect for people who made the effort to speak a language which is not
  31. native in their country.
